Celeste Milligan

Celeste Milligan (2001), born in Lexington, KY, USA, showed strong interest in the violin at the age of 1. As time passed, she began having lessons and discovered her true passion for the violin at age three.

 

Celeste was admitted into the Conservatorio Nacional de Musica - Perú (now known as Universidad Nacional de Música - Perú) at the age of 4, where she was tutored by Maestro Fabián Silva Franco, the first violinist of Perú (Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional). While living in Perú, Celeste became a member and concertmaster of the Orquesta Nacional de Niños and a member of the Coro Nacional de Niños as a Soprano.

 

After moving to Australia in 2012, Celeste was tutored by the renowned Maestros Alan Foster and Emlyn Lewis-Jones; she is now tutored by acclaimed soloist Dr. Susan Collins. She was also a member of multiple well-known orchestras like the Sydney Regional Orchestra, Newcastle Youth Orchestra, Arts Unit's String Sinfonia, and Sydney Youth Orchestra - Chamber Strings, with multiple performance opportunities in the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Town Hall. Celeste was also the concertmaster of the Bay String Orchestra.

 

Celeste decided to pursue her passion for the violin by completing her Bachelor of Music (2022) and Master’s Degree majoring in Music performance (2023); she plans to complete a Doctorate in Violin Performance. Moreover, she actively participates in international competitions, most recently achieving second place (silver) in her age category in the American International Music Awards 2025.
